  ProFala, "Grupo de Estudos em Prosódia da Fala", is a Portuguese-speaking Yahoo group for people interested in speech prosody study and research which was founded by a team of researchers from four Experimental Phonetics Labs in Brazil, namely the LABFON of the Letters Faculty at the UFMG (Belo Horizonte), the Acoustic Phonetics Lab of the Letters FAculty at the UFRJ (Rio de Janeiro), the LIACC of the Linguistics Department at the PUC-SP (São Paulo) and the LAFAPE, of the Institute for Language Studies at the UNICAMP Its founding members, César Reis and José Olímpio de Magalhães (UFMG), João Antônio de Moraes (UFRJ), Sandra Madureira (PUC-SP) and Plínio Almeida Barbosa (UNICAMP), invite those who want to share their experience to join us. The group is interested in exchange information (papers, courses, lectures, etc) and experience as well as in promoting workshops for the experimental and theoretical study of experimental speech prosody involving all varieties of Portuguese.
